A0004 - LINEAR LIGHT APPARATUS

Introduction:
  • This kit consists of three pieces of plastic with holes at same height.
  • The battery holder is located on  one of the bases to help students run the experiment.
  • A low powered light bulb is used as a light source. This kit is easy and clean compare with using a candle as a light source.
Syllabus:
  1. Sains Tingkatan 2 KBSM - Yakin, m/s 23, Perembatan Cahaya.
  2. Sains Tingkatan 2 KBSM - Pertiwi, m/s 21, Mengkaji Perembatan Cahaya.
  3. Sains Tingkatan 2 KBSM - Expo, m/s 21, Eksperiment 12: Perembatan cahaya melurus dan pembentukan bayang-bayang.
  4. Sains Tingkatan 2 KBSM - Longman Malaysia, m/s 20, Mengkaji perembatan cahaya.
Theory:

Light travels in a straight line. When all three holes are aligned in same position, we can see the light source. If the three holes aren't aligned, we won't be able to see the light source. This proves that light movement is linear.

Activity:
  1. Insert two dry cells into the kit.
  2. Prepare the equipment as shown in the picture.
  3. Fit in the bulb and see through the screen. Can you see the light?
  4. Move one of the screens to other position. Can the light still be seen? This is because the holes are not aligned.
